Dennis Mullen

Dennis Mullen began his lifelong passion for the art of glassmaking in 1979, with Robin Mix at Turnbridge Glassworks. In 1984 he worked with Daryl Hinz and Anja Kjaer in Copenhagen, and Bornholm Island in Denmark. Later he moved to Sweden where he worked with former Kosta Boda Glassmasters and Designers, Arthur Zirnsack and Hanna Dreutler.

More recently, he resides and works in Seattle Washington, as manager/partner of Uptown Studio, where he creates some of the most innovative and sumptuous art glass in the country. He has found a unique style blending his Swedish/Danish training with a bold American style. The result is a swirl of dense, rich color on a classic Scandinavian influenced free flowing form. A grouping of his 'wall' bowls can be described as glass fireworks.

Having developed a love for teaching the art of glass blowing, he recently designed and developed a glass blowing facility at Sammamish High School, in Bellevue, Washington.
